Robert P. Plocinik

Robert P. Plocinik, 79, of Eldred, N.Y, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2016, in the Bon Secours Hospital, Port Jervis, N.Y.

He worked for Neumann Prep, Wayne, N.J., having been an athletic director and vice principal. He also worked in the Jail System Helping, where he had helped inmates receive their GEDs.

Born in Elizabeth, N.J., he was a son of the late Henry and Stella (Meravage) Plocinik. He was a 1955 graduate of the former Coaldale High School and graduated from Seton Hall College in New Jersey, where he was a college basketball player and received a teaching degree in education.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958-62, where he was a Communications Technician Petty Officer, 3rd Class CT3, and also played basketball.

Plocinik was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving are three daughters and four grandchildren; a brother Ron, and his wife, Bernadine, of Coaldale; four nephews and a niece.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Joan Harris.
