Coaldale Cub Scout Pack Awarded (1958)

Coaldale Cub Scout Pack 162 received the top award for having the largest number of scout registered before October 18th, 1957, at the 28th Annual Dinner of the Appalachian Trail Council Boy Scouts of America, which took place Monday evening in St. Peter’s Lutheran Parish church hall, Pine Grove. The award was a 25 Dollar Gift Certificate from the Bright’s Stores, Inc.

The Scouts also received another award, a small model airplane, for the troop coming the longest distance to the affair.

A pot luck dinner was the menu for the evening with each group bringing their own food and decorating their own table. A prize was awarded to the troop having the most outstanding table.

Entertainment featured group singing and a minstrel show which was presented by the St. Clair Cub Scouts.

Attending the dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Miller and son, George; Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Evans and sons, William and Daniel, Jr.; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kellner and sons, William and Richard; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gerber and son, David; Mrs. Kathryn Terry and sons, Russell and Stephen, and Mrs. Betty Paslawsky and son, William, Jr.
