Mary Golightly

Mrs. Mary (Warcholak) Golightly, a resident of Baton Rouge, La., and long-term resident of Lawrence, Mass., died on Sunday, March 4, in the St. James Health and Wellness Center, Baton Rouge, after a lengthy battle with breast cancer.

She was 79 years old, born on May 15, 1932, in Coaldale, to Roman and Theresa (Horoschak) Warcholak.

Mary graduated from the former Coaldale High School in 1950 and retired from Sears after many years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Edward Golightly; and her brothers, Michael, Timko, Alexander, Dimetri, John and Paul Warcholak.

Mary is survived by a son, George Golightly, M.D., and his wife, Carolyn, of Baton Rouge; a daughter, Helen Golightly Kidd, and her husband, Robert, of Suwanee, Ga.; her grandchildren, Riley Elizabeth Golightly and Mallory Claire Golightly; sisters-in-law, Minnie Blasko Warcholak of Coaldale and Miriam Golightly Baumann of Slinger, Wis.; and nieces and nephews.

She was a member of St. Mary Russian Orthodox Church, Coaldale; an associate member of the First United Methodist Church, Baton Rouge; and a member of the Covenant Sunday School Class and the XYZ Church Group.

Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, St. Mary Russian Orthodox Church, Coaldale, with the Rev. Daniel Mathewson officiating. Interment, parish cemetery, Summit Hill. Call 9-11 a.m. Saturday in the church. Contributions in her name may be made to the church, 217 First St., Coaldale, Pa. 18218. Arrangements by Gulla Funeral Home, 130 E. Ridge St., Coaldale. Services were previously held in Louisiana.
