Dr. George Julo


Dr. George Julo, 92, of Coaldale and Albrightsville, died Tuesday, March 24, in Allentown. He was the husband of Anna Louise (Morris) Julo.

He had a dental practice in Lansford from 1946-93.

Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Andrew and Justine (Lehatsky) Julo.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Lansford.

Dr. Julo was a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and also belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Dental Association.

He was a graduate of the former Coaldale High School and Muhlenberg College and in 1942 received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Temple University.

The deceased was a veteran of World War II, having served as a major with the 5th Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater of Operations.

Surviving are a daughter, Patricia "Pat" Gallagher of Kirkwood, Mo.; two grandchildren, Heather, wife of Drew Heffner of St. Louis, Mo., and Iain Sandison of Los Angeles, Calif.; and a great-grandson, Duncan Heffner.

The last member of his immediate family, he was alo preceded in death by six brothers and a sister.

Service: Office of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Thursday, March 26, in the church with the Rev. Ron J. Hatton officiating. Interment, parish cemetery, Summit Hill.
