Leonard E. Rabbas

Leonard Edward Rabbas 90, of 31 Mahoning Heights Rd., Lehighton, passed away Thursday, April 30 at The Summit of Blue Mountain Health System's Gnaden Huetten Campus. He was the husband of Mary Steranka Rabbas. They were married for 55 years on Jan. 30.Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late William & Magdalen Geravage Rabbas. Leonard was a graduate of Coaldale High School Class of 1937.He served our country during WWII with The Army Air Corps attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant with the 556th Service Squadron during the European Theater of Operations.In 1981 he retired from the Kawneer Corporation in Bloomsburg, after serving as the production control manager.He was a member of SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Lehighton and formerly was a member of St. John the Baptist Lithuanian Church, Coaldale.He held a membership at The Lansford AMVET's Post and The Lehighton American Legion Post 314.Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, John L. Holdos and his wife Bette of Slatington; a sister, Eleanor, wife of Michael Sachon of Coaldale, two grandchildren, Eric Holdos of Talahassee, Fla., and Jill Weidman of Coopersburg; a great grandson, Paul Daneker of Denver, Colo., and nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by a brother, William.Services: Services & interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to The American Cancer Society, 33 West Ridge St., Lansford, Pa. 18232. The Andrew P.
