Mary A. Pavlovich Obituary

Mary A. Pavlovich, 90, of East Phillips Street, Coaldale, died Tuesday (March 29, 2016) in her home. She was the widow of Joseph John Pavlovich, who died in 2004.

Born in Czechoslovakia, she was a daughter of the late Stefan and Anna (Vargovich) Polak.

She was a member of St. John XXIII Church in Tamaqua and was formerly a member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Coaldale.

While a member of the Coaldale church she was president of the PTA of the former SS. Cyril and Methodius Elementary School, the Rosary Society, the funeral choir, the kitchen crew and for 68 years she served as auditor of th St. Ann's Branch 417 and 318 of the FCLE.

She was a 1943 graduate of the former Coaldale High School.

Surviving are daughters, Regina Pavlovich of Coaldale, Patricia, wife of Joseph Bobeck of Drums, Marian, wife of Joseph Holly of Bethlehem, Beth Anne, wife of Thomas Walko of Bath; a son, Joseph S. Pavlovich and his wife, Kori, of Carlisle; grandchildren, Joseph S. Bobeck, Amanda M. Holly, Joseph A. Holly III, Joseph C. Pavlovich, Sarah Pavlovich, Jared Pavlovich, and Olivia Pavlovich; brothers, John Polak and his wife, Kathleen, of Summit Hill, Joseph Polak and his wife, Grace, of Lancaster, and Stephen Polak and his wife, Jean Ann, of Allentown; a sister, Anna Skyrca of Johnson City, N.Y.; nephews and nieces, John, Nancy, and Daniel Polak, Mary Beth Polak, Brad Polak, and Linda, Nicole, and David Skyrca.

Service: Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m., Friday, St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 266 W. Broad St., Tamaqua. Interment, SS. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery, Nesquehoning. Call 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday or 9:15 to 10:15 a.m., Friday, at 130 E. Ridge St., Coaldale. Arrangements by the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. of Tamaqua.
