Anna (Stafiniak) Slanta, 92, of Westfield, N.J., formerly of Coaldale, died Monday (August 12, 2012) in Overlook Hospital in Summit, N.J. She was the widow of William Slanta, who died in 1992.

A Coaldale native, she was the daughter of the late Herasim and Eva (Chocholak) Stafiniak.

Raised in Coaldale, she then moved to Queens, N.Y., then returned to Coaldale for another 20 years before moving to Westfield in 2008.

Surviving are her loving daughter, Catherine, wife of Nicholas Dovidio of Westfield, N.J.; one sister, Helen Sheers; two brothers, Michael and Simon Stafiniak; and two grandsons, Nicholas and Thomas, who loved her very much.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Stephen Stafiniak.

Service: 10 a.m., Friday, St. Mary Russian Orthodox Church, First and Phillips sts., Coaldale, with the Rev. Daniel Matthewson officiating. Interment, Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown.
