Catherine (Jones) Yeager, 82, of Lansford, formerly of Coaldale, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale. She was the wife of Harold A. Yeager. They were married for 63 years.

A Coaldale High School graduate, Catherine was a member of the United Methodist Church of Coaldale.

Catherine had worked for Majestic Lamp in Coaldale, and Lansford as a bookkeeper.

Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late Jenkin and Elizabeth (Williams) Jones.

Surviving are two daughters, Priscilla (Yeager), wife of Peter Mackovic of Coaldale, and Karen B. (Yeager), wife of Dwight Penberth of Lansford; two sisters, Miss Gwen Jones of North Carolina and Priscilla (Jones) Winter of California; a brother, Jenkin Jones, and his wife, Kitty of Pottsville; three grandchildren, Don Pfeifer, Dwight Penberth Jr. and Karen Evans; two great-grandchildren, Megan Pfeifer and Abigail Evans.

She was also preceded in death by brothers David, Raymond, Jimmy and Karl Jones; and sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Bell, Mrs. Betty Housman, Mrs. Eleanor Horn, Mrs. Sarah Evans, and Mrs. Margaret Maloney.

Service: Memorial service will be held at United Methodist Church of Coaldale, on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, at 1 p.m., corner of Second and High sts., with the Rev. Burgess L. Gordon, officiating. Private interment, Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown, Tamaqua R.2. Memorials in her name may be made to the church. Online registry and condolences may be signed at www.griffithsfuneralhomes.com.
