Mrs. Violet A. Shamonsky

Mrs. Violet A. (Aransky) Shamonsky, 76, of 403 W. Elm St., Tamaqua, died Monday (December 22) in the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was the widow of Robert F. Shamonsky, who died in 2006.

She was a secretary for the former Atlas Powder Company, Reynolds.

Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late George and Isabelle Aransky.

She was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Tamaqua, where she belonged to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

The deceased was a graduate of the former Coaldale High School.

Surviving are a daughter Valerie, wife of Ronald Seely of Wapwallopen, Pa.; two sons, Jerome J. of Barnesville and George J. of Reading; two sisters, Lenore Tomasky of Ephrata, Pa., and Anita Aransky of Summit Hill; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Stephen L., who died in 1993.

The E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, 655 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, is in charge of the arrangements.
